FAQs

What is the mission of the LowCountry Food Pantry?

As a ministry of LowCountry Community Church (LCC), our mission is to serve one another in our community by providing essential food support to those in need throughout Beaufort and Jasper Counties. We aim to reflect Christ’s love, helping to ensure everyone who comes to us is treated with dignity and care.

How does the LowCountry Food Pantry operate?

The pantry operates once a month, set up in various locations in Beaufort and Jasper Counties, including the LCC parking lot and other key areas. Recipients participate in a 30-45 minute shopping experience, selecting the items their families need most. We provide a welcoming environment with games and crafts for kids, and opportunities for families to connect with LCC. Sign-ups are not required to receive food, and food is distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Who does the LowCountry Food Pantry serve?

We serve anyone in need—retirees, working families, and anyone who needs a bit of extra help. Our pantry is designed to supplement, not replace, monthly grocery shopping.

How is the LowCountry Food Pantry connected to other local outreach?

While we operate independently, we maintain partnerships with local outreach organizations to maximize our impact. Through these connections, we strive to serve our community and share the hope and message of Jesus Christ.

How can I support the LowCountry Food Pantry?

You can contribute by donating non-perishable food items during Sunday services at LCC. See the grocery list and drop-off instructions here. Reusable grocery bags are provided each Sunday at LCC for your convenience. Take a bag, purchase items from the grocery list located on the website, drop off the bag with your items at LCC on a Sunday morning, and take a new bag for your next grocery trip!

How can I volunteer for the LowCountry Food Pantry?

There are many ways to get involved! You can help collect and sort donations, prepare for distributions, and serve during the distribution events. Whether you serve as an individual, a couple, or a family, your involvement will not only bless those we serve but also bless you.
